What to expect

We want you to have a positive experience when you come to Martha Bowman United Methodist Church for the first time. We know that choosing a church can be difficult, so we want to make your experience with us as smooth as possible.

On Sunday mornings we are currently offering three in-person worship services along with online worship. Find details on our worship page. Regardless of which service you desire to attend, scroll down this page for information that you might find helpful.

How should i dress?

How you dress is completely up to you!  Most people wear "business casual" attire, but we also have a solid dose of jeans as well as ties and dresses.

Where do i park?

Our church is located at 500 Bass Road (at the corner of Bass and Forsyth Roads), and we have three lots available for parking on Sunday mornings.  Our main parking lot has two entrances off of Bass Road and it typically fills up first, but we do have designated guest and handicap parking spots in this lot.  If this lot is filled, we have overflow parking off the next two driveways on the right on Forsyth Road (Howard Community Club and our Upper Parking Lot).

Where do i go?

We have two primary entrances to the church, and if you park in the main parking lot there are signs to point you towards these entrances. The Main Entrance puts you at a good central point on our campus; from there you may turn left to go to our Historic Sanctuary or walk upstairs to The Commons, our Contemporary worship center. Our Preschool and iKids check-in is located in the main lobby.

If you park in the back, or in one of the two overflow lots, you will want to come in the Family Entrance, which is beside the playground. We encourage families with preschoolers and elementary aged kids to park in the back because this entrance is where you will want to sign your kids in via KidCheck.

If you are confused on where to go then be sure to ask one of our friendly Guest Services volunteers for help! Guest Services volunteers can be identified by their lanyards.
